Sir Jonathan Sacks

As the Chief Rabbi, Sir Jonathan Sacks is the recognized religious leader of the country’s Jewish community. He has been Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth since 1 September 1991, the sixth incumbent since 1845.

    I was always worried about the levels of hostility the Jews still face today from the ignorant minority despite the incredible history in Europe. If anything (to my mind) the need of a new Constitutional Bill of Rights and Responsibilities is essential towards the people having a written Constitution. Though we all in Britain keep our beliefs quiet, the way the world is changing it is more important for those values to be protected lest (as some fear) they be quietly lost.
    I especially appreciated your usage of individuals such as “Lock” and “Yes, Minister” as they highlight wonderfully the freedom we enjoy in the UK from overzealous and very insecure leaderships in other parts of the world.
